The Classified Staff Spirit of BG Award Committee is pleased to accept August nominations for the Classified Spirit of BG Award. Every qualified nominee will be recognized and presented a certificate of appreciation and their nomination(s) published in the Campus Update each month.
There are no limits on nominations throughout the year. Qualified nominations submitted from May through the following April will be placed in a drawing at the annual Classified Staff Awards Ceremony in May to win one of 12 monetary prizes. The guidelines provide all information necessary to qualify. Please submit a nomination for that special classified staff employee who displays what BG's spirit is all about.

The Division of Diversity and Belonging second annual Day of Dialogue takes place on Friday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre, located in the Wolfe Center for the Arts. It is an opportunity for BGSU to bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community to listen, talk and learn as active participants as we attempt to change the culture around addressing racial issues in the United States.
This year’s theme is “The Art of Diversity: An Introspective Journey to Belonging.” We welcome all forms of creative works as well as papers and presentations. Works can be as short as five minutes or as long as 45 minutes. Artwork and/or written artifacts submitted may be displayed for the duration of the event.
Deadline for all submissions is Aug. 9. No late submissions will be accepted. Please email acbrown@bgsu.edu for more information.

Faculty, staff and students can now purchase their parking permits online by logging in to their parking account.
To register for your parking permit, open MyBGSU, click "Manage Parking Account" on the left under "Misc. Services" and then click "Get Permits." You will then follow prompts to register, pay for and link your permits to your vehicle.

The Introduction to Canvas provides an overview of Canvas features, including settings, notifications, assignments, discussions, grading, modules and quizzes. This workshop will be conducted virtually with Zoom.

This workshop serves as a virtual space for us to reflect and discuss aspects of teaching and learning specific to each teaching modality (Face-to-Face, Hybrid, Remote, and Online). Whether you are planning to refresh your course for next semester or preparing to shift your course to a new-to-you modality, this workshop is meant to help you plan and prepare for next semester. During the session we will share and discuss strategies for course delivery and design including course organization and navigation, student engagement and collaboration and teaching tools and strategies for each method of teaching.

Meeting on Tuesday evenings, the University Choral Society consists of students, faculty, staff members, and singers from the greater northwest Ohio community. Events planned for the upcoming season include a program of Lessons and Carols in December, and a performance of Mendelssohn's beloved oratorio "Elijah" in April.
