1. Fair Food at the Teaching Kitchen next Wednesday!

Do you love fair food? Want to try some fun ways to make it healthier and taste just as good? Join Dietitian Paige and learn how to put a healthy twist on your favorites! This event will take place next Wednesday, July 7, in the Teaching Kitchen. Register here. If you have questions, reach out to Paige at wiemanp@bgsu.edu.

2. Focused Falcon Mindfulness Series

Focused Falcons is a free four-week workshop to help manage stress, strengthen attention, and increase memory.

Take part in weekly sessions specifically designed for strengthening your ability to focus and pay attention. The workshop includes learning mindfulness meditation, stress management techniques, methods to respond to difficult situations, and skills to live with intention and purpose.

Workshops are free for BGSU students, faculty and staff in collaboration with the BGSUS Counseling Center. The first series of workshops will take place virtually and registration is required.

Workshops will be hosted Wednesdays July 7, 14, 21, and 28 from noon to 1 p.m.

3. Know a student in crisis? Here's how to help!

Help create a Community of Care at BGSU and make sure no Falcon struggles unnoticed and alone! Start the Conversation is a collaborative training offered by the Counseling Center and the Humanities Troupe from the Department of Theatre and Film.

In the training, you will learn how to contribute to a community of care, how to identify the warning signs of people who may be struggling, and how to help (including suicide prevention strategies). Simple expressions of care are powerful, and you can make a difference in someone's life!

The next training is Monday, July 12, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Zoom. Register and to learn more about how you can help create a community of care at BGSU!

5. Asian Theatre course offering for Fall 2021 - Sign Up Today!

The Department of Theatre and Film is excited to offer a course in Asian Theatre for the Fall 2021 semester! This three-unit course, taught by Professor Bradford Clark, introduces the rich performance forms of countries that include Japan, China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam.

This ASIA 4700-1001 Special Topics in Asian Studies / THFM 4900-1001 Problems in Theatre and Film course is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:40-5:45pm in 208 Wolfe Center. 6. Spirit of BG award July nominations classified staff

The Classified Staff Spirit of BG Award Committee is pleased to accept July nominations for the Classified Spirit of BG Award. Every qualified nominee will be recognized and presented a certificate of appreciation and their nomination(s) published in the Campus Update each month.

There are no limits on nominations throughout the year. Qualified nominations submitted from May through the following April will be placed in a drawing at the annual Classified Staff Awards Ceremony in May to win one of 12 monetary prizes.

More information can be found at this website, or for more information or to access the nomination form. The guidelines provide all information necessary to qualify. Please submit a nomination for that special classified staff employee who displays what BG's spirit is all about.

1. Summer Course, HP 2150: Health and Wellness

Are you interested in enhancing your health in just six weeks? If so, sign up for HP 2150: Health and Wellness.

This course is open to all majors and is 100% online. This course is three credit hours and will run July 6th- August 14th.

1. Faculty participation opportunity at commencement

Commencement is a special time for our University community. BGSU will host an in-person ceremony outdoors at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, on the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle.

The Commencement Committee welcomes BGSU faculty to participate in August commencement. To express your interest, we ask that you complete the Commencement Faculty Participation Interest Form.
