1. 5k Scott Hamilton CARES Step to Stop Cancer

Join us for Steps to Stop Cancer Bowling Green, Ohio - a 5k for Cancer Research! Held in person at the Slater Family Ice Arena June 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. or virtual participation available May 30 – June 5, 2021.

How You Can Get Involved

Participate and Fundraise
1) Register for $25 and receive your choice of a CARES water bottle or Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ t-shirt!
2) Raise funds by asking your network to donate. Set a goal to earn rewards through your philanthropy.
3) Complete your 5k independently or in-person. You can independently run your 5k anytime the week of May 30-June 5, or join us in-person on June 5 at 2 p.m. and run your 5k, starting and ending at the Slater Family Ice Arena.

Support a Participant by Donating
By donating to a Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ participant's fundraising goal, you are not only supporting them but providing critical research funding for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and our healthcare partners at Mercy Health and Wood County Hospital.

2. Know a student in crisis? Here's how to help!

Help create a Community of Care at BGSU and make sure no Falcon struggles unnoticed and alone! Start the Conversation is a collaborative training offered by the Counseling Center and the Humanities Troupe from the Department of Theatre and Film. In the training, you will learn how to contribute to a community of care, how to identify the warning signs of people who may be struggling, and how to help (including suicide prevention strategies). Simple expressions of care are powerful, and you can make a difference in someone's life!

The next training is Wednesday, June 16, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Zoom. Register here, and learn more about how you can help create a community of care at BGSU!

2. Personalized Fitness & Wellness Guidance

Now offering free chats with a public health nurse to support questions related to COVID-19 or other health-related concerns you may have. Schedule your call here

In addition, we have certified personal trainers and a dietitian to help jumpstart or sustain your fitness and well-being journey. Get your questions answered and receive personalized support. Schedule your free session with a registered dietitian here.

3. Assessing Course Design and Delivery

The design elements of an online or remote course can influence both the teaching and learning that occur within the course. In this workshop, participants will reflect on their online and remote course design and delivery, review standards for high quality course design (Quality Matters and BGSU Rubrics), and share best practices for (re)designing an effective, engaging, and well-structured online course.
