Presentation registrations for undergraduate presentations are DUE TODAY (but an extension can be given by contacting cmora@bgsu.edu) for our annual Undergraduate Symposium on Diversity. The Symposium will be held this year virtually (asynchronously) with the website launching on Monday the 29h of March 2021 here.
Undergraduate students from any discipline are encouraged to submit a presentation on any topic related to diversity in the broadest sense (including topics on culture, ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, age, and disability). Group presentations based on classroom work as well as presentations created outside the classroom as part of a research, scholarly, or creative project with a faculty mentor will be accepted. Student presentations will be uploaded to the symposium website and will have to have to include some pre-recorded or written narration.

The Falcon softball team hosts Central Michigan in their home opener today at 3 p.m. Today is game one of a four game series versus the Chippewas. Saturday is a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. And they are back in action on Sunday at noon. All games are held at Meserve Field.

The Falcon tennis team is hosting a Unity Match today in their MAC Home Opener versus Buffalo. The match will take place at the Perrysburg Tennis Courts.
The Falcon volleyball team continues their dominance as they host the Akron Zips today and tomorrow. Tonight the match versus the Zips begins at 6 p.m. Saturday's match is at 5 p.m. Following the game, the volleyball team will honor it's senior members. Both matches are held at Stroh Center.

The BGSU women's soccer team hosts the Kent State Golden Flashes in a MAC matchup Sunday at 2 p.m. Prior to kickoff, the women's soccer team will honor their senior members. The game is held at Cochrane Stadium. Up to 40 students will be allowed to enter the facility to watch the game on a first come, first serve basis.

Focused Falcons: Intermediate/Advanced is a free 4-week workshop to help manage stress, strengthen attention, and increase memory. Weekly sessions specifically designed for strengthening your ability to focus and pay attention. The workshop is designed for past participants of the Focused Falcons program or individuals who practice mindfulness on their own and are looking to deepen their practice. The program includes learning mindfulness meditation, stress management techniques, methods to respond to difficult situations, and skills to live with intention and purpose. Workshops are free for BGSU students, faculty and staff in collaboration with the BGSUS Counseling Center. Our beginner level workshop will be Tuesdays March 23rd and 30th and April 6th, and 13th from 12 – 12:50 PM

Looking for a way to help survivors of domestic and sexual violence? Hoping to gain experience working with the community directly? Apply today to be an On-Call Volunteer Advocate with The Cocoon!
Volunteers are on-call 3x a month to respond to crisis calls from the community on our 24/7 24/7 Hotline, Volunteers also respond to in-person outreaches, such as at the hospital or police station, as the need arises.

The application round for the CURS Summer Grant is now open with a submission deadline of Monday the 5th of April 2021 (one week extension is possible upon request if sent in advance to cmora@bgsu.edu). Applications can be submitted online at www.bgsu.edu/cursgrant under “Summer CURS Grant”.
Undergraduate research/scholarly/creative projects with a faculty mentor in any discipline are funded with up to $500 for the project cost ($750 for a group project of 3-5 students). Each students is expected to work 23 hours per week on the project for 10 weeks during the summer semester and will receive a stipend of $2,500 for their work in bi-weekly installments for the duration of the project. Start dates are flexible based upon project needs.
Application consists of:
• Online form (student(s) information, faculty mentor(s) information, general project information)
• Project narrative (2-3 pages including project title, introduction, scholarly question/topic, description of what student(s) is/are planning to do for the project, anticipated outcomes, and brief discussion of how the project’s anticipated outcomes related to the project’s scholarly question/topic and how they fit into the current state of the project’s discipline)
• Budget (itemized list of anticipated purchases with individual costs as well as the total amount requested)
• Reference Letter(s) by faculty mentor(s) indicating their support of the student and the project

This online summer course uses witches and witchcraft to explore how issues of race, class, sexuality, and gender have been understood throughout the history of the feminist movement in the U.S. We will explore texts about witches and goddess worship from the U.S. suffrage movement, radical second-wave feminists, and modern-day feminist witches working to hex the patriarchy! Most assignments will allow you to choose from traditional academic writing and arts-based methods to engage with the texts from the course.

4/7 Creating and Managing a Summer Writing Schedule
This workshop is for faculty and staff who would like to learn the basics of integrating community-based learning (also known as service-learning) pedagogy into their course or program and how to identify and establish a relationship with a community partner. In this workshop CPI will provide examples of different levels of community-based learning involvement that can be applied to diverse topics and disciplines. BGSU's Classified Staff Council is accepting scholarship applications for the 2021/2022 academic year. The application can be found here.
This scholarship is given annually to selected current classified staff employees and/or their spouse or dependent(s) that are currently enrolled at BGSU and have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate in a degree-seeking program (either full-time or part-time) that has at least one semester of course work remaining at BGSU prior to graduation. Applicants must have completed 12 credit hours at BGSU.
The deadline to apply for CSC's Scholarship is Wednesday, March 31. All applicants will be notified of the final decision.
This workshop serves as a virtual space for us to reflect on and discuss aspects of teaching and learning specific to each modality BGSU offered this semester. Whether you are planning to refresh your course for next semester or preparing to shift your course to a new-to-you modality, this workshop is meant to help you plan and prepare for next semester. During the session we will share and discuss strategies for course delivery and design including course organization and navigation, student engagement and collaboration, and teaching tools and strategies for Hybrid, Remote, and Online delivery.

Did you experience restriction of your food consumption by your primary caregiver(s) during childhood? Are you a female with an elevated body mass index (BMI)? If this applies to you, please consider participating in a research study. The aim of this study is to gain insight on female adults’ experiences of food restriction during childhood. By participating in this study, you will be able to share your childhood eating experiences with a doctoral student in clinical psychology through a one-on-one interview via online video conferencing. Monetary compensation ($20) is provided for those who participate in the interview. If you experienced food restriction during childhood, have a BMI in the overweight or obese range, and are interested in participating in this study, please email Rachel Redondo (rredond@bgsu.edu) for more information about this study.
