Help create a Community of Care at BGSU and make sure no Falcon struggles unnoticed and alone! Start the Conversation is a collaborative training offered by the Counseling Center and the Humanities Troupe from the Department of Theatre and Film. In the training, you will learn how to contribute to a community of care, how to identify the warning signs of people who may be struggling, and how to help (including suicide prevention strategies). Simple expressions of care are powerful, and you can make a difference in someone's life!

Project Connect of Wood County, sponsored by the United Way of Wood County, is a drive-through event with three county locations in which community members in need can receive assistance provided by the greater Bowling Green community.
The BGSU Center for Public Impact is challenging university individuals, organizations, offices, centers, departments, and alumni groups to become involved in this year's event by donating hygiene kits and/or grocery bags for Project Connect.

Please join the Department of History for the Women's History Month Presentation, "Writing Women into History" by Dr. Ann Little.
Dr. Little will discuss the challenges of writing the histories of women for whom little documentation exists. She will use her own work on Esther Wheelwright as an example of these difficulties and then will facilitate an open conversation in which all attendees may participate.
The first 20 students to log in to the event will receive a signed copy of Dr. Little's book, “The Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright” (must pick up on campus).

The call for undergraduate presentations is now open for our annual Undergraduate Symposium on Diversity. The Symposium will be held this year virtually (asynchronously) with the website launching on Monday, March 29 here.
Undergraduate students from any discipline are encouraged to submit a presentation on any topic related to diversity in the broadest sense (including topics on culture, ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, age, and disability). Group presentations based on classroom work as well as presentations created outside the classroom as part of a research, scholarly, or creative project with a faculty mentor will be accepted. Student presentations will be uploaded to the symposium website and will have to have to include some pre-recorded or written narration.

BGSU is pleased to share that we are exploring in-person commencement exercises for this spring. To ensure we can appropriately plan, we need our spring 2021 graduates to complete our Commencement Participation Interest Form.
This will help us better understand the possible attendance and capacity this spring. This form must be completed by March 10. Following the review of the responses, we will determine the number of ceremonies needed, along with dates, start times and capacity. We will then reach back out to you for a final RSVP with the ceremony options in late March.

Looking to change your eating habits, improve your exercise habits, and lose weight? We are running a weight loss group for 12-weeks starting in March via a private Facebook group. The treatment is delivered completely through the Facebook group. You will be encouraged to make changes to your diet and to increase your physical activity. You must be between the ages of 18-29, have a body mass index in the range of overweight or obesity (>25 kg/m2), have a desire to lose weight, own a smartphone or personal computer, have access to a scale, and have an existing Facebook account.
Eligible individuals will be randomly assigned to one of three groups. One of the groups will be asked to wait 12 weeks in order to participate. There is no cost to participate.

The BGSU Center for Public Impact is offering a service opportunity for students on the upcoming March 22 & 23 Wellness Days! We will be working with FLOC in Toledo, a nonprofit organization that works to address issues impacting the migrant farmworkers in northwest Ohio. We will participate in in-house education about FLOC and learn how BGSU students can be community advocates.

Students must provide their own transportation to 1221 Broadway Street in Toledo and provide their own meals/snacks. This is not an overnight trip. We are still accepting student poster presentation submissions for the 2021 Public & Allied Health Symposium! The symposium will be held virtually on April 9th, 2021 from 8:45 AM EST to 12:45 PM EST. The theme this year is Bridging Health Through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Poster submissions are due by March 12, 2021 and notification regarding acceptance will be shared by March 19, 2021. Join us for this 90-minute session on inclusion in the classroom, where we will discuss ways to help all students learn. We will cover course content and design; instructor’s prior assumptions and potential multicultural issues in classroom situations; planning of class sessions; instructor’s knowledge about diverse backgrounds of students; decisions, comments, and behaviors during teaching; and we will help participants develop an action plan so they can embrace student diversity in all its forms in the classroom.

BGSU faculty had to quickly transition to remote learning over the past few months. While transitioning many faculty have decided to implement videos within their courses. Often times instructors may find that participation is low in synchronous lectures and are looking to find more efficient ways to engage students in their subject matter. In this workshop instructors will be able to define what microlearning videos are and the benefits of producing this type of video, discuss the steps and best practices involved in creating microlearning videos and be able to determine what platform is best to host videos while keeping in mind best practices for accessibility.

Position Summary: This position serves as one of the investigators for Title IX cases when both parties are BGSU students. This individual will serve as a secondary investigator and will be paired with an individual serving in the primary investigator role. This position will assist the primary investigator with the following activities:
This position will also attend all training associated with this role and attend BGSU Deputy Title IX Coordinator meetings hosted by the Title IX Coordinator or designee.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities: Support primary investigator with conducting all tasks necessary for the investigation.

The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering an Intro to Canvas Studio workshop. Canvas Studio is a screen capture tool that makes it easy for faculty to create engaging videos right within Canvas. The Studio interface allows students and instructors to engage with media by implementing in-video commenting. Low-stakes quizzes can be added right within the video for low stakes student assessment. This workshop will demonstrate the features of Canvas Studio from producing and editing screen capture videos to utilizing student analytics.
