As we hope for spring to arrive early, there are many technology changes occurring around the BGSU campus.
-
In December 2017 we upgraded PeopleSoft Student (CSS) to its latest version, 9.2. One of the key features included in the 9.2 version was allowing student academic tasks – like add, drop, or register for classes, pay bills, and view student financial aid - to “go mobile” via the University MODO app.
-
Overman 095 has been upgraded to a “telepresence classroom” so that Biology classes can be taught from the BGSU main campus to Lorain County Community College.
-
Arabic and German language classes are now using Olscamp 107 and 109 “telepresence classrooms” to teach University of Toledo students.
-
Winter Session and Tuition Guarantee programs are under development and all will be ready for the start of Fall Semester.
-
BGSU will join Eduroam in April that will allow BGSU faculty, staff and students to log into BGSU from any other college or university when they are on their campus participating in Eduroam.
-
A new 911 system will be installed this spring for the Wood County and BGSU emergency operations.
-
Undergraduate Admissions recruitment for the class of 2019 will begin using Slate in May 2018.
-
The Career Center will move to Handshake this May to replace WorkNet allowing students to continuing using Career Services after graduation.
-
StarRez will move to its Cloud version this summer.
-
RecTrac will upgrade to its Cloud version this summer.
-
This summer BA 116, Hayes 108 and Hayes 111 will have their classroom technology updated.
Have a great Spring Semester!
Sincerely,
John Ellinger, CIO
