1. BGSU Preview Day event and parking lot closures

Date and Time: From 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Location: BTSU and various locations around campus

Description: The BGSU Office of Admissions Fall Preview Day will take place from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Dec. 7.

Over 2,000 guests will be on campus exploring academic programs, student services and campus facilities.

Guests will be parking in Lot 7, E, F and 4 for the day's events. These lots will close on Friday, Dec. 6 and will be reserved only for Preview Day guests until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Students, faculty and staff who will be on campus this Saturday are encouraged to plan accordingly for the influx of campus visitors.

8. Recycle your plastic bags at the Union

Learn more about Campus Sustainability!

Description: Do you have plastic bags that you’d like to get rid of? Luckily, in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union there is a plastic bag recycling station! This is our only bag recycling station here on campus. Any plastic bag placed within a regular recycling bin is contaminated, so please utilize this resource! This station is located on the first floor by the front entrance and is labeled with a plastic bag recycling sign. When recycling bags, please ensure that they are clean and not soiled with things such as liquids and food.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a great place to hone your presentation and research communication skills while sharing your knowledge in three minutes using a single static PowerPoint slide. You will want to use language that someone who is not in your field, will still understand. The deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 7 (entries received after that date will be considered if space is available). Competitors need to submit their presentation slide by 5 p.m. on Feb. 14.

The BGSU competition will be held Feb. 20 in the Union Theatre and will offer the following prizes:

Description: The Safe Zone Project at Bowling Green State University seeks to enhance awareness and support for LGBTQ+ individuals by fostering an inclusive environment and understanding intersectional identities. In the in-person session facilitated by staff from the Division of Inclusion and Belonging, “Safe Zone for Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students,” you'll deepen your knowledge of LGBTQ+ definitions, socialization and gender concepts, while exploring relevant US policies and allyship techniques. Description: Join the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) for a tour of the Instructor Video Recording Studio in Olscamp 109. The Recording Studio is a sound-proofed space for BGSU instructors to record educational videos for their courses. During the tour, you will learn how to use the studio’s equipment, including the HD camera, screens, and lighting kits, and learn about different types of videos you can create using the space. This tour is offered as a drop-in session; please arrive anytime during the allotted time.
