Presenter:  Allie Hicks, School of Media and Communication

The presentation examines how the prevalence of sexual communication influences sexual partners' relational satisfaction. There is an existing relationship between communication and intimacy, but there are also variations in agency and comfort exercising these conversations. We are seeing a correlation between the ability to engage in efficient and direct sexual communication and higher rates of relational satisfaction, but for many their ability to implement sexual communication may be stifled. This presentation examines this phenomenon while critiquing its causes and considering its implications.
