Engage! Grassroots Political Campaigning and Women in Politics

Join the Women’s Center for a discussion about getting involved in politics.  This workshop will cover the basics of how political campaigns function on a grassroots level, how to get involved in political campaigning, and how to run for of􀏐ice. Participants will practice crafting vision statements about an issue that is important to them, and will work with each other to articulate their position in a way that is impactful, brief, and memorable. At the end of the program, guests who are women in local politics will be available for a discussion. This is a non-partisan workshop, and political parties will not be discussed or endorsed.

Violence and Consent:  A Theater-for-Dialogue Presentation

What do healthy personal boundaries mean to you? How can we best respect personal and professional boundaries? How do we talk about issues of sexual violence? Professor Emily Aguilar will use theater-for-dialogue to provoke conversations about relationships, power, violence, sex, and consent. This is an interactive and participatory program.
