Elizabeth “Betty” Boyer (1913- 2002), a 1937 graduate of Bowling Green State University, was a champion for gender equality in education and advocate in the passage of Title IX legislation. In honor of Betty’s continued efforts to promote gender equity in education, The Elizabeth M. Boyer Award for Student Mothers was established to support the academic achievement of student mothers at Bowling Green State University. The Boyer Award aims to assist in meeting some of the financial demands of being a parenting student.

ELIZABETH M. BOYER AWARD FOR STUDENT MOTHERS

The Elizabeth M. Boyer Award for Student Mothers is available to full-time undergraduate females maintaining a 2.5 GPA whom hold primary custodial responsibility for a minor child and/or an adult child with special needs.  Student mothers who meet the above mentioned application criteria are encouraged to apply for the Elizabeth M. Boyer Award for Student Mothers. Application materials are available within the Women’s Center at Bowling Green State University and comprise of an application and a narrative essay. An initial award of $1,000 will be granted based on a combination of need and application strength.
