How to Get the Most out of your Virtual SOAR Experience
The Virtual SOAR experience is designed to provide you all the resources and information you need to be ready for your first year at BGSU. This summer, through Virtual SOAR programming, you’ll have the opportunity to work on your class schedule with your advisor, connect with future classmates, determine your Fall 2020 bill and review payment options and learn more about living and learning at BGSU. Every step of the way, we encourage you to ask questions – we’re here for you!

- STEP 2: Complete your Writing Placement Essay by logging in to MyBGSU>Orientation>Placement Tests
- STEP 3: Sign your Financial Responsibility Agreement by logging in to MyBGSU>Student Center>To Do
- STEP 4: Send final transcripts, college transcripts, AP scores to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible. Most high schools and colleges will know how to do this.

ATTEND THE REQUIRED 30-MINUTE VIRTUAL SOAR WEBINAR
Save the date! By registering for Virtual SOAR, you’ve selected the date that you will attend the required 30-minute Virtual SOAR webinar. In this webinar, you’ll learn about:
• Meeting with your advisor
• Your class schedule
• Paying your bill
• Move-in and Fall Welcome activities
• Getting involved on campus
• COVID-19 Safeguards
• Much more
You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions using our in-chat feature. The link for the Virtual SOAR webinar will be emailed a few days in advance of your SOAR date.
CONNECT WITH YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR
After your required 30-minute Virtual SOAR webinar, you will receive a link with information about connecting with your advisor for an academic advising appointment later in the summer.
Following your required 30-minute virtual SOAR event, you will be paired with one of these Orientation Leaders. Keep an eye on your email for opportunities to connect with your Orientation Leader via virtual "hangouts."
Scheduled throughout June, July and August, we’ve developed a full schedule of webinars with YOU in mind. While attendance is not required, we recommend you plan to participate so you feel prepared when it comes time to start classes in the Fall. With so many options to choose from, you’re sure to find a few that will cover topics you’re interested in. Parents and family members are welcome to participate, as well.
