Fall Welcome

Two weeks packed full of events and activities to connect you to campus and make you aware of the wide variety of co-curricular activities BGSU provides.

Cultural Understanding

At BGSU students are immersed in cultural experiences from the moment they step on campus, living and learning alongside students from 70 different countries.

Linked Courses

As a freshman you will be enrolled in linked courses with a group of students that share similar majors. Courses are scheduled back to back with faculty teaching from concepts that connect assignments, ideas and approaches.

First Courses in the Major

One advantage of a university that focuses on undergraduate education is you begin to take courses in your major during your first term. BGSU students are given the opportunity to begin to learn about their specific area of study as freshmen. These courses are intentionally taught in a small class size environment and provide you with the opportunity to engage with faculty members from your major beginning on “day one” of your education.

Leadership Opportunities

BGSU has many programs that tap into your leadership potential. The Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy (PLA) or the Leadership Certificate Program each help you connect, synthesize, communicate and lead with integrity, wherever your dreams take you.

Deciding Student Program

Not sure what you want to study in college? Not a problem at BGSU. We provide a program for entering students who are trying to finalize their area of study. These students are enrolled in courses that will assist in exploring and identifying a major that is aligned with their interests and passion so you don’t lose any time toward achieving your degree.

Learning Communities

Share in service, social and leadership experiences with close friends as you immerse yourself in a community of people with similar passions. With 14 award-winning residential and
theme communities available within our residence halls, you can choose what fits you best. Students who live in learning communities experience a smoother transition into college life and are more likely to stay enrolled in college.
