Deciding Student Program

Maybe you’re already sick of the question “So, what are you going to major in?” It’s a natural question to ask students. People ask you this because it’s something you have in common and can be a great conversation starter.

Keep in mind; the choice of your major does not dictate your career path. True, it’s an important decision, but it’s only one step in the whole career planning process. It’s not even the most important step! So, how do you decide?

The Office of Pre-Major and Academic Planning assists you in making that decision.  Deciding students visiting this office explore and evaluate their skills, values, interests and opportunities to find an academic discipline to pursue.

Remember, when you choose a subject you love, you increase your level of engagement and motivation. Focus on developing essential skills and competencies and find ways to gain experience, rather than choosing the “right” major. The Office of Pre-Major and Academic Planning can help you understand the “big picture” and career possibilities.
