Welcome to the Bravo! BGSU Silent Auction for 2018. Below is a list of the items that will be available as part of the silent auction to raise funds for scholarships in the arts at BGSU. Additional items will be added as they are donated.

Enjoy a weekend in Cleveland that includes a one-night stay at the French Gothic Glidden House, a pre-concert brunch at Severance Restaurant and two tickets to the Cleveland Orchestra’s Prometheus Project concert at Severance Hall. Conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, the concert will feature the music of Ludwig von Beethoven and provide a “look at new approaches to his work, to enliven and deepen our understanding of his genius.” The Cleveland Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 (“Pastoral”), his ode to nature that is a masterpiece of simplicity and sincerity and a timeless piece depicting life of the countryside; Symphony No. 2, written during the decline of his hearing; and Leonore Overture No. 3, Beethoven’s foray into opera.

"Blue Mountain" is an energetic, freely brushed watercolor on paper by Lynn Eriksen Mazur. The artist's elimination of specific details and use of strong contrasts of light and dark effectively captures the dynamism and power of the mountain, looming above the surrounding landscape. Evelyn Bastian's "Boats" depicts lobster boats in what appears to be a typical New England fishing village. The work is carefully executied in watercolor using both wet and dry brush techniques. The artist has left the white of the paper to show through in many sections, creating a gentle, misty-gray luminosity. Go to the Qtego auction site to bid.

All three bottles are from Javelina Leap Vineyard and Winery located in Cornville, Arizona. This boutique winery produces about 3,000 cases per year of award winning high quality wines in the Verde Valley just south of Sedona, Arizona. All Javelina Leap wines are 100% Arizona grapes, handmade and unfiltered. Javelina Leap wines are not yet distributed outside Arizona and these three bottles are no longer available for purchase! The first is Javelina Leap 2015 Prospectors Blend: 60% Zin, 20% Merlot, 20% Petite Syrah, which won the Silver Medal in the 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The second bottle is a Javelina Leap 2015 Sangiovese winning the Best Arizona Sangiovese and 2nd Best Arizona Red Wine. The final bottle is a Javelina Leap 2012 Merlot which received the Gold Medal and Best of Class at the 2013 International Women’s Wine Competition.
