International students that are enrolled into an Optional Practical Training (OPT) Program are eligible for BGSU student insurance coverage. Please contact the Student Insurance Office at email@example.com for enrollment forms and for more information.
Spouses and Children of International students that are enrolled into the Student Health Plan are also eligible to enroll into the Student Health Insurance Plan. Eligible Dependents will enroll into and pay for the health plan directly through Aetna by going to the Aetna Student Health Insurance website www.aetnastudenthealth.com

All International Students, regardless of credit hours, are required by the University to enroll in the BGSU/Aetna Student Health Plan, with few exceptions. Exceptions include, students fully sponsored with approved coverage provided by their government - embassy, or with approved coverage provided by a U.S. based employer. International students that have the above named approved policies will need to contact the Student Insurance Office prior to the posted deadlines and complete a waiver opting out of the BGSU-sponsored coverage or they will be required to pay the premium charged to their Bursar account.
