2024 USG Elections

Candidate Information & Platform

Heidi Gasser - President

I am honored to run for President of your Undergraduate Student Government this year to serve our community by voicing student needs, ambitions, and interests through authentic communication. In my time as a Diversity Affairs Senator and Director of Engagement and Outreach, I have enjoyed strengthening USG’s ability to act as the bridge between our students and our administration. I believe that as a Falcon, you are entitled to robust and definitive access to on-campus resources, thorough responses to administrative concerns, and a community that saves you a seat at the table.

William Hattery - Senator at Large

As an At-Large Senator, I will continue my work to make Bowling Green State University a more accessible and welcoming place. Avie Housholder - Diversity and Affairs Senator

My name is Avie Housholder, I am a first-year social work student running for Diversity Affairs Senator within BGSU's Undergraduate Student Government!

I’m a non-binary and gay student looking to improve the well-being and support of LGBTQIA+ students on campus. Current matters I am focusing on include accessibility of inclusive facilities, marketed and accessible affirming resources, discrepancies with the use of “chosen” versus “legal” names, and solidifying BGSU as a safe environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Throughout high school, and to the current day, I have worked as an echo of student voice concerning LGBTQIA+ safety, affirming policy, and student well-being.

Isabella Lane - Diversity and Affairs Senator

My goal as a Diversity Affairs Senator is to put all my effort in making necessary, impactful change on campus and making sure undergraduate students can access all the resources BGSU provides. I aim to work with my fellow legislators to improve the quality of life for students on and off campus. The experience I’ve had serving on USG so far has been incredibly insightful and I can’t wait to keep representing the undergraduate population!

I have the necessary knowledge and experience to assist in Honors College affairs and represent our community in official affairs.

Christian Isler - Schmidthorst College of Business Senator

Caleb Isler - College of Education and Human Development Senator

As your College of Education and Human Development Senator, I'm committed to enhancing academic student support services and fostering a vibrant campus community. I will do this by prioritizing student concerns and helping create a supportive campus environment. With your support, let's continue building a brighter future for all students at BGSU!

Kagen Ruley - Non-Traditional Senator

As a transfer student to BGSU myself, I am running to be the non-traditional student senator to advocate for university policies that facilitate the acclimation of transfer students and other non-traditional students to the university.
