Size Up and Command on the Fireground - 3-Day Class

October 7 - 9, 2017
8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Description
Students will review the critical points of size up and past events where the 'fog" was thick and leave with a better understanding of an active fire ground. As a class, we will work toward creating a more effective and a safer environment for those under your command. To help students better understand the dynamics on the fire ground and how these dynamics can effect decision making, we will review and practice them in real-life scenarios through simulations, radio traffic review and study.

This program will be broken down into four parts

1) How and why we become "lost"
2) A look at size up especially geared for smaller departments whether career, volunteer, combination, etc.
3) A review of past lessons where the fog was thick and tragedy or close calls occurred.
4) Review and discuss the MAYDAY when the fog can be the "thickest" and the margin of error is slim.

A MUST CLASS IF YOU WANT HELP "CLEARLY" SEEING THE FIREGROUND

Attendees will also receive a free month subscription to a Sims-U-Share fire simulation software
