Street Smart Engine Essentials – 2-Day Class

May 7 - 8, 2018
8:00 am–5:00 pm

This 2-day hands-on training class will take your engine company skills to the next level. Being a part of an effective and efficient engine company is more than just putting water on the fire.  It means knowing when and where to bring the line, and more importantly, what line and how much of it to stretch. Engine company positions, size up, and tactical responsibilities will be discussed. Hands-on evolutions will include stretching, flowing, and advancing 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 hose lines, alternative stretches, and extended lays.  Hose bed configurations, line selection and placement, nozzle selection, and various pre-connected hose loads will be addressed.  Using various apparatus, you will hone your engine skills using street proven tactics for proper pumping of lines, maximizing your water supply, and flowing big water.  Additionally, using acquired structures, we will put these techniques to use, giving you real world experience.
