Description
If you have the opportunity to work with local authorities and be part of a scuba diving rescue team, this is the course for you. The PADI Public Safety Diver Specialty course will teach you how to conduct search /recovery dives, assist with underwater criminal investigations and will develop your diving skills.

Students will be introduced to the special procedures, equipment, scene handling, communications and documentation requirements for a public safety diving operation. During 4 open water dives you'll practice compass navigation, knot tying, arc search techniques, victim recovery, rope-pull communications and rescue techniques for a distressed public safety diver.

Prerequisites and Equipment
To enroll in a Public Safety Diver course, you must be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and at least 18 years old. You also need to earn your PADI Rescue Diver certification by the end of the course.

Non-divers may attend this course for a certification of “Diver Tender/Surface Support”
Student divers must supply their own diving equipment including:

·               Wet suit or dry suit, with fins and gloves
·               Mask (half face or full face)
·               BCD
·               Weight system (if diving with half face mask) and Regulators
·               2 Cutting tools
·               2 Air cylinders (min 80 cu foot)

Fee
$750 (includes PSD manual)

Optional Rescue Dive Certification

$225 (includes the certification, eLearning and physical materials and must register by April 10th, 2021).

PSD Plus Surface Support Certification

$50 per certification
