The Ohio Council of Higher Education Retirees (OCHER)
OCHER is a not for profit organization of retiree representatives from the public institutions of higher education in Ohio.
PURPOSE: to serve as a forum and promote the welfare of retirees of Ohio public institutions by:
- Providing advocacy leadership and representation to the Ohio Legislature and to other appropriate groups at the local, state and national levels;
- Sharing information among member institutions of general interest, as well as that specific to a particular campus;
- Supporting retiree organizations at each of the member institutions; and
- Encouraging the formation of retiree associations not represented at OCHER.
The Council meets four times a year in Columbus.
