Roommate Groups

Roommate Selection for Returning Students

During the Returning Student Housing Selection Process for students required or eligible for housing can begin personalizing their on-campus experience. During this phase we encourage students to take a look at all of the residence halls on campus and consider whether they want to live with someone they already know or would like to meet someone new.

Roommate Groups

All students can pick their own roommate.

Available Dec. 1 - Feb. 1, 2018 | During this time, students who are eligible to live on campus and would like to choose their roommate, can create/join Roommate Groups in their Housing Application located in their myBGSU My Room and Meals Account.

How to create a Roommate Group

Start Here | Returning students will have the option to form a Roommate Group with up to six students in their Housing Application. Students who wish to complete this optional step will need to return to their Housing Application to create or join a Roommate Group:

  1. Log in to your MyBGSU
  2. Click on “Housing and Residence Life” under the "Students" tab and then select "My Room and Meals"
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions until you get to the Lifestyle Preference step
  4. Choose whether you are "creating the group" or "adding yourself to a group"

Please note: This will only be available when this step is open.

CREATE THE GROUP

Students who create the Roommate Group become the group leader. Leaders will need to create a group name and password and share this with members.

Please note: Group Names and Passwords are case sensitive.

ADD YOURSELF TO A GROUP

Students who want to add themselves to a roommate group will need to know the group name and password created by the group leader.

Please note: Group Names and Passwords are case sensitive.
