Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority Revolving Loan Fund (RLF)

CRD provided technical assistance to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority on their successful $2.4 million application to the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for a CARES Act Recovery Assistance Grant to create a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) for businesses in northwest Ohio.  CRD provided data, analysis, and application guidance to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority in support of their application to EDA as part of their work under the EDA’s University Center Program. The RLF will help address the region’s weakness in access to capital for small and mid-sized businesses and will support the goals and objectives of the Toledo Region Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

MetalX and Nature Fresh Farms

CRD partnered with the Village of Delta, Fulton County, and the Maumee Valley Planning Organization to assemble a successful application for $958,885 in Economic Development Administration (EDA) Public Works funds for construction of the proposed Village of Delta Raw Water Service project. This project involves the construction of a new raw water pump station which will be constructed on Village of Delta property immediately adjacent to the existing water treatment plant. The pump station and water system will be owned, operated, and maintained by the Village of Delta.

The proposed project will provide raw, untreated water to support and enhance economic development in the Village of Delta and surrounding region. The project will immediately serve two beneficiaries: Nature Fresh Farms, Inc. and MetalX, LLC, which are both located in the Village of Delta. Nature Fresh Farms will utilize the raw water supply for irrigation purposes to support the expansion of their greenhouse operations while MetalX will use the supply for dust control during the processes at their proposed new scrap metal recycling facility.
