Applied Research

As an interdisciplinary research center, CRD can leverage assets from across BGSU’s diverse disciplines to conduct applied research with a wide range of public, private, and nonprofit partners. Over the past five years, CRD has engaged in a variety of applied research projects that have resulted in external funding from the state of Ohio and from the Federal government and numerous publications. Recent projects at CRD have focused on air service development and the role of commercial air service in economic and workforce development. Additionally, CRD is developing a research program centered on the economic and community determinants of foreign direct investment (FDI) and reshoring in the United States. Finally, CRD, along with its University Center partners at Ohio University, are conducting an applied research project examining the alignment of state workforce development programs with in-demand skills and jobs in the state of Ohio. Please contact CRD for more information on how we can connect your community or business with the research capabilities of BGSU.
