Summer Frequently Asked Questions

BGSU Main and Firelands Campus has Five summer sessions: one 3-week session, one 12-week session, two 6-week sessions and one 8-week session.

The dates for summer 2019 are:
3-week session: May 22 - June 12, 2019
12-week session: May 22 - August 16, 2019
First 6-week session: May 22 – July 3, 2019
8 week session: June 24 – August 16, 2019
Second 6-week session: July 8 – August 16, 2019


You can register for one or more summer sessions.

Due to the compressed summer schedule, it is typically recommended that you take no more than two courses or six credit hours each six-week session. It is suggested that you contact your advisor to discuss your best options for summer class load before registering.

The schedule will be available online, beginning February 11, 2019.

When the schedule is available online, select the campus of "Distance" prior to searching for classes.

If you are a current BGSU student, you can register by going to MyBGSU starting March 4, 2019.

Undergraduate Guest application is available here. The Non Degree Graduate application is available here. Once the application is submitted, additional information will be sent to your BGSU email address.  

Prior to the beginning of classes, sign into your MyBGSU account and click on your Student Center to drop/add the class(es). If you wish to drop a class that has already started, contact your College office for assistance. Guest students should contact the Office of Registration and Records (419.372.8441).

Instructors may post grades at the end of each session. All grades are posted in August. At that time students can go to MyBGSU and print their grade report or request a transcript from the Office of Registration and Records at 419.372.8441.
