Group Fitness

Results oriented Group X classes are a great way to achieve fitness goals while exercising in a fun, motivational environment. A wide variety of classes with well-rounded exercise routines are led by certified instructors who provide support, accountability and structure. 

Group X Passes are half off for the remainder of the fall semester!

Attend unlimited classes by purchasing a Group Exercise Pass, or pay as you go by purchasing a Day Pass. Membership to the Student Recreation Center is not required. Purchase passes at the SRC Welcome Desk or online. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. Review additional Group X Policies.

Course Descriptions

The classes listed below are offered at some point during the calendar year, and not all are offered every semester. 

Barre

Build strength with this dance, Pilates, and functional fitness fusion class. Barre offers a little bit of everything; including planks, pulses, holds, and unique euipment to ensure a whole body, kick butt workout! 

BODYPUMP™

Love music and weight-lifting? Check out this high-energy weight lifting class to build lean, toned muscles. This class challenges you with a full body workout using high repetitions paired with light to moderate weights to burn calories, tone muscles quickly, and gain strength. Trained instructors keep you motivated, educated, and inspired to come back for more! 

Cycle

Cycle your way to increased cardiovascular fitness! This 45-minute class focuses on increasing strength and improving your cardiovascular system. Work your way through hills, jumps, sprints, and climbs with high-energy music to become a stronger you!

Cycle Circuits

Try this awesome fusion class to incorporate the benefits of cycling and exercise circuits all in one class! Set to high-energy music, challenge, and strengthen your entire body with cycle circuits, and off-bike exercises.

Total Body Tone

Looking for total body strength and cardio in one class? Total Body Tone is the class for you! Try this High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) circuit class designed to deliver a fun, calorie burning sweat session. The class utilizes body weight, exercise equipment, and cardio moves for a total body workout. The exercise equipment utilized includes: free weights, kettlebells, and TRX® suspension training equipment. 

TRX® Cardio Core Circuits

This versatile class combines the calorie blasting ideals of cardio circuit training while developing a strong core along the way. It utilizes TRX® suspension training equipment, ViPR, Kettlebells, BOSUs, and free weights to get your sweat on and strengthen your entire body in 45-minutes!

Buti Yoga

This class provides a fresh, dynamic twist to your usual yoga experience. Try Buti Yoga for a fun, empowering class that combines power yoga with cardio-intensive tribal dance moves and primal movement to sculpt long, lean muscles.

Dynamic Yoga

This unique twist on yoga allows you to strengthen your body and mind while focusing on the fluidity and strengthening of your muscles and joints. You’ll leave this class feeling strong, powerful, and relaxed! 

Yoga

This class leads you through a variety of yoga and balance poses to increase strength and flexibility in a serene environment. Yoga allows you to strengthen your body and mind, and leaves you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Yoga & Breathing

This class format takes a slower, more relaxed approach to the practice of yoga. Try this class format for a progressive exploration of different breathing styles to open up your chest and relieve tension and stress. You’ll leave class feeling cool, calm, and collected! 

Yoga & Mediation

Yoga & Mediation is a mindfulness class that incorporates the use of different props, meditation styles, and self-exploration. This class utilizes stress relieving activities to release tension and stress encountered in everyday life. Enjoy this specialty yoga class to feel like a better version of YOU!

Aqua Fitness

This shallow water aqua class combines cardio and strength training that is low impact and easy on the joints. Instructors guide you through various exercises while utilizing aqua equipment and resistance from the water to provide a fun, full body workout! All fitness levels welcome.

Aqua Zumba®

Join Falcon Fitness for a “pool” party! This aqua class integrates a cardio dance formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines. This fun dance class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that is cardio conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, enjoyable!

Hip Hop Fitness

Tired of the elliptical? Try this dance cardio class to keep you moving, sweating, and grooving. This class incorporates hip hop elements of dance fitness with traditional cardio moves for a high-energy, calorie burning class that leaves you feeling fierce, sweaty, and strong! 

Kickboxing & Core

Enjoy this fusion class that combines traditional kickboxing, cardio, and core strengthening exercises. Participants focus on learning, executing, and enhancing their kickboxing form, and technique for the first 30-minutes of class, then an ab sculpting and core strengthening session prior to the cool down and full body stretch. You leave feeling strong and powerful! All levels are welcome.

POUND®

POUND® is a full body, easy to follow, cardio jam session! This format combines high-energy music, and continual upper-body movement using lightly weighted drumsticks to deliver a fun and effective workout. You'll jam, POUND®, and sculpt your way through a fierce sweaty session.  

Step & Tone

Enjoy a twist on traditional step aerobics! Try this strength class to discover the powerful combination of step aerobics with lightweights to tone your mucles. This is an excellent cross-training class for all fitness levels. 

 Turbokick®

This class combines kickboxing and high-intensity interval training to deliver a knockout workout. Instructors incorporate kickboxing moves while instructing proper form and technique to get your body sculpted and strong. A high-energy and high-intensity workout will leave you feeling powerful and fit! 

WERQ Dance Fitness®

WERQ® is a fiercely fun dance fitness workout class based on pop, rock, and hip-hop music taught by Certified Fitness Professionals. The signature WERQ® warmup previews the dance steps used throughout class, so you’ll feel rockstar-ready by the end of class! The signature WERQ™ cool-down focuses on balance and yoga inspired poses to help the body stretch effectively after WERQing it.    

ZUMBA®

Join the Falcon Fitness Dance party! Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a high-energy, calorie blasting, total body cardio dance workout. It provides a great mix of Latin flavor and international beats designed to tone and sculpt your entire body while dancing your workout away!

STRONG by ZUMBA®

Try this strength class for a calorie burning, muscle toning, and high intensity exercise experience. This new class format combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio , and plyometric training moves synced with original music designed to match every move in the class. Let the music move, inspire, and challenge you to become a better you! 

Transform your body! BODYPUMP™, a breakthrough in resistance workout training, focuses on low weight loads and high repetition movements to challenge all major muscle groups. When TRX classes are offered they are included on the Group X schedule and additional fees do not apply! Purchase a Group X pass at the Student Recreation Center or Perry Field House Welcome Desk. TRX® Suspension Training is held in the Functional Training Zone.

Falcon Fitness offers private, individualized TRX® Suspension Training. Prices are based on personal training fees.
