Falcon Fitness Instructional Workshops offer a great option for those looking for an effective, high quality workout that focuses on skill development, motivation, and imporved fitness. All workshops require pre-registration at the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Welcome Desk. Space is limited, so register today!

SmallGTSelf-Defense Workshop

This self-defense workshop is designed to teach skills that leave individuals prepared and capable of defending themselves. Participants learn, practice, and master how to evade common attack maneuvers along with additional defense skills. We all hope there is never a situation where these skills are put to the test, but there is no better defense than being prepared.

Back On Track (Hips, Butt and Core) Small Group Training*

Focus on building strong hips and core! This workshop is for those who may have lower back pain, knee pain, want to build a strong core or just become stronger. Hips and core are involved in everything we do - bending, squatting, picking things up, walking, running, and every day activities. Strong hips and core protect our lower back and knees from injury. Get back on track with building the best version of yourself with a hips and core focused workshop.

Building A Strong Foundation (Legs) Small Group Training*

Find yourself skipping leg day each week? Need motivation? Have pain in your lower back or knee when you bend over? Join this workshop for the motivation and the guidance to build strong and healthy legs. The trainer teaches correct movement patterns and variations of leg exercises in a progressive manner to build a strong foundation.

Building Healthy and Strong Shoulders (Shoulders, Scapula, Back and Core)
Small Group Training*

Build strength and tone the upper body with an emphasis on building healthy shoulder movement patterns. Shoulder health is important for all upper body movements and can even help prevent injury in the back. This workshop helps individuals progress toward building strong shoulders as well as the back and core muscles.

Falcon Fit Club Small Group Training

Do you want to be Falcon Fit? Kick off the year with Falcon Fit Club. Participants utilize different equipment and exercises to learn more about technique and proper form while getting feedback from a Certified Personal Trainer. Enjoy the atmosphere of a group fitness class while getting direct feedback from an exercise professional in a small group setting. Build relationships, strength, and work to become the best version of you!

Fitness and Advisory Board (FAB) Saturdays

Looking to be FABulous this spring? Trying to make healthier choices, but don't feel comfortable using the Student Recreation Center? Join the Falcon Fitness and RecWell Advisory Board for exclusive access to the SRC and a SRC Certified Personal Trainer for any of our FAB Saturday workshops. These FREE monthly sessions include two components: a 30-minute education session followed by a 30-minute guided exercise session. Attend to learn more about our equipment and learn full body exercises while receiving feedback and advice from a Certified Personal Trainer. Attend a FAB Saturday workshop to earn Recreation and Wellness discounts. Registration is online and open to all BGSU students. This Workshop is limited to the first 12 participants, so register now!

*These workshops include completing a functional movement screen on the first day. By completing the FMS, the trainer is able to objectively asses how well a person moves and provide valuable feedback on exercises to help the person move better.
