Passive Tabling/Sex + Starbucks Bowen Thompson Student Union and BGSU Oval Passive programs with students to discuss sexual violence, bystander intervention, healthy masculinities, Green Dot etc.
Green Dot Bystander Training Various location across the BGSU BG campus and Firelands campus and via Zoom This primary prevention program addresses sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking while promoting bystander intervention.
SAAM 5k and Dog Walk Social Media Annual awareness event to promote sexual violence prevention and awareness.
Clothesline Project (2) BGSU Oval and Social Media A vehicle for individuals affected by violence to express their emotions and their experiences by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by the community to capture the dangers and harm of power based personal violence.
It's on Us Teach In YouTube and Social Media An annual opportunity for education and awareness building during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. A virtual program where BGSU affiliates provided their research on sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking.
"What Were You Wearing?" Social Media In collaboration with The Cocoon, stories of survivors were provided virtually and aimed to break down the rape myth that sexual violence is perpetuated due to what someone is wearing.
Nameless Screening Zoom Digital screening with "Men Can Stop Rape" - This film is a resource and awareness-raising tool that explains what commercial sexual exploitation of minors is, identifies who is impacted, and offers prevention and intervention strategies.
Denim Day Social Media The campaign was originally trigged by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.
Masculinities Round Tables Social Media Spearheaded by the BSW student intern, conversations were held to discuss healthy masculinity for Masculinities Month.
Empty Place at the Table BGSU Dining Halls: The Nest, The Oaks, and Kreischer Honoring and recognizing women and children in Northwest Ohio who have had their lives taken due to domestic violence. This project began in 1993 in Lackawanna County, PA and the display demonstrates the way domestic violence devastates a community and family. This program also provides resources for support and education on relationship "red flags" along with bystander intervention.
Red Flag Campaign Lawn near Education Building Creating awareness and recognizing the calls to report dating or domestic violence in Wood County. This program also provides resources for support and education on relationship "red flags" along with bystander intervention.
It's On Us Campaign Social Media/Online Prevention campaign focused on sexual assault prevention
Peer Education Presentations Online YouTube Videos Peer education presentations were recorded and accessed by classes and organizations throughout the year on sexual violence prevention, bystander intervention and healthy relationships.
