Bailey Family Endowed Professor of Mathematics

The professorship was created by James L. Bailey and his family in 2004. It benefits a senior-level professor with a strong emphasis in mathematics education, leadership, and dedication to building the reputation of the program.

Ned E. Baker Professorship in Public Health

Ned E. Baker Professorship in Public Health was established in 2016 by Edwin H. “Ted” Pratt Jr. The professorship is to attract and retain eminent public health scholars and educators. Ned E. Baker devoted his entire 47-year professional career to the field of public health. He joined BGSU as an adjunct faculty member in 1978, where he served on many advisory committees and national committees that developed public health goals and objectives that set national precedents.

Larry and Patty Benz Professorship in Health and Human Services

This endowed professorship was created in 2017 by Dr. Laurence “Larry” ’84 and Patricia “Patty” Benz and will reside in the College of Health and Human Services. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of exceptional teaching and noted research in his/her discipline.

This endowment was created in 1990 to honor Ashel G. Bryan. It recognizes an outstanding professor in the College of Business, and provides that professor with opportunities to enhance his/her teaching and/or scholarship.

Dr. Howard E. & Penny Daum Aldrich Distinguished Professorship in Sociology

This professorship was established in 2017 by Howard Aldrich and Penny Daum Aldrich. It recognizes an associate level or higher professor in sociology who provides students with challenging learning environments; is a leading expert in the discipline with an extensive research record and national visibility in the field; provides significant educational contributions to the development of students as scholars and researchers, including collaborative research activity, and is dedicated to serving as a public spokesperson and strong advocate for sociology programs at BGSU.

Olympic gold medalist and world champion figure skater Scott Hamilton established in 2019 the Ernest & Dorothy Hamilton Endowed Professorships in Entrepreneurial Leadership in honor of his parents, who were professors at BGSU. The professorship is used to attract and retain outstanding professors, administrators or faculty in entrepreneurial leadership and foster research, education and business community involvement in entrepreneurial leadership.

Ernest and Dorothy Hamilton Endowed Executive in Resident in Entrepreneurial Leadership

Olympic gold medalist and world champion figure skater Scott Hamilton established the Ernest and Dorothy Hamilton Endowed Executive in Resident in Entrepreneurial Leadership in 2005 in honor of his parents, who were professors at BGSU. The endowed executive in resident is to attract outstanding executives to foster research, education and business community involvement in the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leaderships in the Schmidthorst College of Business.

Klingler Electro Acoustic Residency

The Klingler ElectroAcoustic Residency provides opportunities for composers to explore, experiment, and create for two weeks in Bowling Green State University's 10.2 multi-channel/first order Ambisonic studio. The residency has welcomed new music performance ensembles, who present a concert and seminars in the fall and then return in the spring to read and record student works.

Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Family Distinguished Endowed Professorship in Accounting

This professorship, created in 2008 by Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer, reflects the belief that the donors have in the importance of a strong accounting program. The Maurer professor should have a strong background in the teaching and scholarship of accounting as well as a willingness to teach student and connect them to the business community.
