Student Enrollment Communication Center


The Student Enrollment Communication Center (SECC) is a comprehensive communication center designed to support student enrollment and retention at BGSU through increased outreach to prospective and current students in a variety of venues. Staffed by BGSU students, the SECC engages the student community by:

  • Recruitment calls and texts to prospective students to invite them to visit, help them complete applications, notify them of missing documents, and welcome them to the BGSU family.
  • Retention calls and texts to current students regarding academic progress, important deadlines, and connecting them with resources.
  • Staffing the Admissions Live Chat from 10 am to midnight, Sunday through Thursday.
  • Maintaining Facebook and Twitter cohorts for BGSU Classes of 2015-2020 and the BGSU Parent Facebook Page.
  • Managing “BGSU Students” Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat accounts.
  • Administering the Blog “Pieces of BG” which features blogs and videos from students who comment on their experience at BGSU.
  • Sponsoring the yourFellowFalcon Retention Initiative that includes yFF Facebook, email, and campus events to engage first-year students with the campus community.
