Have you thought about a career in healthcare but just don't know exactly what you want to do? In this camp, you will rotate through various healthcare fields that are not widely known. During these two days, students in grades 9 through 12 will dive into different settings in which these professions work and get hands-on experience in what they do. Come discover what area of healthcare may be the right fit for you!

  • NON-Residential Day Camp 
  • Camp Dates:  June 16 & 17 
  • Camp Times: 9 AM - 4 PM (arrive by 8:45*) 
  • Meals Provided: Daily Lunch and Snack

  • Camp Content aligns with the Ohio Revised Code Section 3313.60 Prescribed curriculum. Effective: October 24, 2024 Legislation: Senate Bill 168 E.5.a   

Why Attend?

  • Students will have the opportunity to explore Medical Laboratory Science by performing simulated lab tests in aiding with diagnosing and managing illness.
  • Gain insight into the area of Public Health with learning about environmental health, sanitation, and hygiene. 
  • Hear from faculty and professionals in the field of Social Work, Gerontology and Ocupational Therapy 

Eligibility 

  • Students entering 9th - 12th grade in fall of 2025 who are interested in learning more about careers in the health fields.

Camp Cost   

  • The $195 cost of camp covers all take home supplies, lunch & snacks as well as instruction and lab fees. 
  • Financial assistance is available in the form of campership applications and through partnered grants.

Application Dates & Deadlines  

  • Early Decision Deadline: March 2, 2025
  • Final Deadline to apply: April 28, 2025
  • WAITLIST APPLICANTS will be notified by May 31, 2025

Application Cancellation Policy

  • All programs, or camps within a program, may be subject to minimum enrollment and may be canceled if enrollment minimum is not met. In the event of a cancelled program all fees and registration costs will be refunded.
  • Campers may withdraw their application at anytime by sending an e-mail to falconyouth@bgsu.edu

ACCEPTANCE & DEPOSIT

To reserve your seat in camp a $25.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 10 days of receiving your camp acceptance. Participants who do not pay the deposit by the tenth day are removed and placed on the waitlist.  A deposit made after the 10th day does not guarantee a seat and must be approved.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If a registration is canceled, the individual or organization making the original CAMP payment will receive:

Full refund minus deposit if cancelation occurs on or before May 1, 2024. 

75% refund minus deposit if cancelation occurs  21 days or more to the start of camp.

50% refund minus depost if cancelation occurs between 14 days and 21 days to the start of camp.

No refund for a "No Show" or for a cancellation request received less than 2 weeks prior to the start date of the program. Students dismissed for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for any refund.
