BGSU releases 15-day enrollment numbers
BOWLING GREEN, O.—The 15-day numbers are in and Bowling Green State
University is celebrating its record-setting fall 2010 enrollment. All
state colleges and universities are required to report enrollment data
to the state of Ohio on the 15th day after the start of classes.
The number of full-time equivalents this semester (which counts students on a 15-credit-hour basis) increased by 441 from fall 2009.
The 15-day enrollment report also shows:
BGSU has a total enrollment of 20,222 – an increase of 434 over last year.
Enrollment at BGSU Firelands hit 2,517 – surpassing 2,500 for the first time in the college’s history.
BGSU welcomed the second largest freshmen class in history – with 3,841 students enrolled for fall.
Breaking it down even further, BGSU welcomed its most diverse class, representing just over 20 percent of new freshmen. Over 14 percent of the class of 2014 is from out of state, with the majority coming to BGSU from Michigan.
Academic standards remained strong with the class of 2014. Thirty percent had a GPA of 3.5 or higher in high school while 63 percent had a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The overall GPA for this new class is 3.21.
Transfer students increased as well. Just over 700 enrolled, the second highest in school history.
