TIM MUNRO is a Chicago-based, triple-Grammy-winning musician who can deliver “a virtuosic tour de force” (Chicago Tribune).  As a flutist, writer, broadcaster, and teacher, he treats audiences as equals, welcoming them into musical worlds with passion, intelligence, and humor.  Currently serving as the St Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Creative Partner, he curates the SLSO’s series at the Pulitzer Foundation and co-hosts live broadcasts on St Louis Public Radio.  Tim is the flutist for the University of Chicago’s Grossman Ensemble, Principal Flute of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra and co-artistic director and was flutist with Eighth Blackbird from 2006-2015.  In August of 2020, Tim released a recording of Liminal Highway by Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Cerrone.  This hypnotic five-movement work for flute and electronics creates an atmosphere of anxiety tinged with a fragile sense of hope.
