Spring Tour 2017

Bowling Green State University Men’s Chorus

Spring Tour 2017

The 50-voice, nationally known, BGSU Men’s Chorus conducted by Tim Cloeter will present a concert tour March 3–12, with performances in Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, and Ohio.

With a long-standing tradition of excellence, this chorus has inspired and entertained audiences for nearly forty years, and has performed with distinction at regional and national conferences (including the 2011 MENC North Central Division Conference, the 2012 Intercollegiate Men’s Choruses national conference, and the 2013 OMEA Conference).

The varied concert program spans from Renaissance music to music by living composers, and from German part-song to barbershop. Concert highlights will include Benjamin Britten’s epic drama “The Ballad of Little Musgrave and Lady Barnard,” the rollicking Russian folk song “Khorumi,” a newly commissioned spiritual by Stacey Gibbs, Lauridsen’s exquisite “Sure On This Shining Night,” and the humorous “Manly Men” by Kurt Knecht.
