BGSU Collegiate Chorale Tour 2017

The 27-voice BGSU Collegiate Chorale conducted by Tim Cloeter will present a concert tour with performances in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, May 7–14, 2017.

The Collegiate Chorale is the most select choir in a five-choir program within a College of Music comprising over 500 music majors. Consisting of principally juniors, seniors, and graduate students majoring in music, the Chorale engages audiences with authentic and conscientious performances of sophisticated and exceptional music, seeking to connect to listeners intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

The varied concert program of sacred and secular music spans from the Renaissance to the present, across multiple languages, and from classical music to vocal jazz. Program highlights will include Byrd’s “Haec dies,” Jennings “The Lord Is the Everlasting God,” Debussy’s Trois chansons, Brahms Zigeunerlieder, Messiaen’s “O sacrum convivium,” Fauré’s “Cantique de Jean Racine,” Whitacre’s “Seal Lullaby,” and a newly commissioned work by Nathan Jones.
