Decker Book Wins Award

A book Greg Decker co-edited (Singing in Signs: New Semiotic Explorations of Opera, Oxford University Press, 2020) was awarded the Society for Music Theory's "Citation of Special Merit" outstanding publication award at the annual conference. The winners are chosen by a committee of highly respected scholars in the discipline of music theory, and this year, there were over 115 works submitted for consideration for publication awards. The committee can decide not to give an award in any given year. The Citation of Special Merit is "awarded for editions, translations, reference works, edited volumes, and other types of publications that are of extraordinary value to the discipline."
