Piano Alumna voted 2019 Teacher of the Year

The Ohio Music Teachers Association (OMTA) has announced its 2019 Nationally Certified Music Teacher of the Year: our own Rachel Mauricio Mills. She is a role model in every sense of the word - a superb piano teacher, a life-long student, and a teacher who gives back to the community in many ways, and particularly through her volunteer work with Central East OMTA. We congratulate and celebrate her!

Rachel Mauricio Mills, NCTM, maintains a private studio of pre-college and adult piano students in Worthington, where she lives with her husband and two young daughters. She holds a BM in Keyboard Pedagogy from Capital University, an MM in Piano Performance & Pedagogy from Bowling Green State University, and has been a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through Music Teachers National Association since 2014. She is currently serving her second term as President of the Central East District of OMTA.

Mrs. Mills is also a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and an adjudicator for the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs. An active member of Women in Music Columbus, Rachel enjoys performing collaboratively and also works as a freelance pianist for events and church services.
