The Kindle screen uses E-Ink Technology and it is not backlit which makes it easy on the eyes and it can be read in bright sunlight! When it is idle or you press the power button to turn it off, it will display a screensaver image like the one above rather than a blank screen.
The screen is not a touchscreen. Use the buttons on the bottom and sides of the Kindle to navigate.

How do I borrow a Kindle?
Come to the Jerome Library circulation desk anytime we are open to check out a Kindle.
Any BGSU patron can check out a Kindle: current students, faculty, or staff.
- Click here to see if there are any currently available.
- If they are all checked out, call us at 419-372-2051 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to put your name on a waiting list.
- Kindles check out for a 3 week period. If you want to renew it for another 3 weeks, bring it to the circulation desk. We will look at the waiting list and check it out to you again if no one is waiting.
- When checking out a Kindle, you will be given the Kindle in a
case and a small bag with the charging cord. Please return all
pieces together. Return the Kindle to the circulation desk, not in
the book drop slot.
