Microfilming Program

Services provided by the Microfilm Laboratory include traditional 16mm and 35mm microfilming for large and/or bound format records, processing for both 16mm and 35mm microfilm, silver duplicating for 16mm and 35mm microfilm, vesicular duplicating for 35mm microfilm, document scanning with transfer to 16mm microfilm for loose records up to legal (8 1/2 x 14) size pages, microfilm digitization for 16mm and 35 mm microfilm and climate controlled vault storage for both 16mm and 35mm original negative microfilm.

For our church and government customers, the Center for Archival Collections participates in a cooperative arrangement with FamilySearch that allows for the microfilming of many church and government records AT NO COST to the participating institution.  Approved records will be microfilmed from their beginning date through the date indicated below, OR to the end of the volume. Books or volumes will be microfilmed IN THEIR ENTIRETY unless specified by local custodians, and the original materials will be returned to them.  Microfilm copies of these records will be deposited at the Center for Archival Collections and at the Genealogical Society of Utah.  Use copies of the microfilm may be purchased by the participating institution at our regular rates.  Records which do not meet the program criteria may be microfilmed at our regular rates.
