Prisons

Prisons were established throughout the nation. The Johnson's Island installation in Lake Erie near Sandusky, Ohio was established to house Confederate Officers. Libby Prison was established in Richmond, Virginia to house Union prisoners. Many soldiers from northwest Ohio units spent time there.
