Associate Professor and Coordinator of Reference Services
Linda Rich is the Coordinator of Reference Services in the Department of Library Teaching & Learning. She is a member of the Library Instruction Liaison Team for the College of Business and also serves as the instruction liaison to the School of Family & Consumer Sciences. Linda received both a B.S. in Business Education and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University and worked at the Indiana University Law Library prior to coming to BGSU in 1995.
Linda’s current research interests include improving the library user experience and the provision of chat reference services in libraries. Her recent scholarship includes the article “Can Student Assistants Effectively Provide Chat Reference Services? Student Transcripts vs. Librarian Transcripts” and the presentation “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly About Quick and Dirty Assessment Efforts.” The article “Reaching Additional Users with Proactive Chat Reference” is forthcoming in The Reference Librarian.
