Carol Singer

Professor, Reference and Instruction Librarian


Carol Singer received her Master of Library Science from Indiana University in 1979 and her B.A. in French and Russian from Bowling Green State University in 1975. She worked at Wayne State College, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Kenyon College, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Agricultural Library, and the U.S. Justice Department before coming to BGSU in 1998.

Her research interests include the management and development of reference collections, the use of government information, the use of primary sources by history students, and instruction in library and Internet research. She has recently published articles in Reference and User Services Quarterly and the Journal of Academic Librarianship. She is the editor of Docs Prescriptions, the newsletter of the Ohio Government Documents Round Table and also writes a column for the newsletter, History Digitized.
