Travis provides leadership for The Learning Commons and the Falcon Learning Your Way (FLY) Program. He serves on the University Library Management Advisory Group and collaborates with colleagues in other academic units to develop and implement strategic initiatives designed to support student success. Travis holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Position: Assistant Director - Supplemental Learning Services
Jeremy is a two-time alumnus of BGSU, graduating in 2006 with his Bachelor of Science in AYA Math Education and again in 2009 with his Master of Arts in Pure Mathematics. Jeremy has worked at BGSU since 2003, first through student employment as a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader and SI Student Supervisor, then as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, before ultimately becoming a Coordinator with The Learning Commons in 2011. Now, as the Assistant Director, Jeremy oversees all non-tutoring functions within The Learning Commons; this includes Supplemental Instruction, Academic Coaching, and Success Workshops. Jeremy continues to teach classes on campus, serves as a representative and officer in Administrative Staff Council, and was a founding Board Member of the Ohio College Learning Center Association.
Position: Tutoring Coordinator
Teresa earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, Master of Education in Reading, and Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural and International Education from Bowling Green State University. She obtained an Ohio Professional Teaching License for Grades 1-8 in all subject areas. She has previously worked as a middle school Language Arts teacher, a tutorial instructor, an Early Childhood teacher, an ESOL Instructor and Academic Director as well as a Prevention and Education Coordinator for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention. Teresa also served as a member of the OC3 Office’s Education and Prevention Team at the University of Findlay.
Penny Soboleski, Ed.D.
Position: Learning Specialist
Penny earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education, Master of Education in Reading, and Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University. She obtained an Ohio Middle Childhood Teaching License in Language Arts and Social Studies, and a P-12 Reading Endorsement. Prior to becoming a Learning Specialist at BGSU, she worked as a reading teacher, Reading Specialist & Coach, classroom teacher, and university professor in teacher education programs.
