Windows 10 Version Updates

Windows 10 is the most widely used operating system on University-owned devices. New versions of the product are released often as they allow for easier updates to keep devices working smoothly and securely without installing a completely new/different operating system.

However, like most products, every Windows product has a lifecycle. The lifecycle begins when the product is released and ends when it is no longer supported. Windows 10 versions have expected end-of-support dates published by Microsoft and must be updated by BGSU to mitigate security concerns, introduce stronger malware tools, provide critical patches, etc.

In order to stay up-to-date on the most current version, ITS must develop, coordinate, and remotely push Windows 10 version updates to University devices.
