New design changes coming soon to MyBGSU and Student Center
Mark your calendar for February 8, 2020; that’s when Information Technology Services (ITS) will roll out their new design changes to the MyBGSU portal and Student Center. The new design will enhance the user experience by providing user-friendly access from any type of device.
After completing various usability studies that included sample groups comprised of students, faculty, advisors and administrators, the project team compiled a list of common themes that were used to layout the new pages. The main goal being to provide easy, upfront access to important information, as well as intuitive navigation to help guide users through the pages.
Changes will be implemented using a phased approach over approximately 12 months. Phase I will be implemented over the weekend of February 8 and students will notice the new changes on their MyBGSU Student page as well as to the pages located within the Student Center. Faculty and staff will not see any changes at this time unless they also have a student affiliation. Phase II is slated for Summer 2020 and Phase III for Spring 2021.
Phase I features that students can look forward to include: quick view tiles with dynamic information on your To Do list, account balance, cumulative GPA, credit hours enrolled and advisor contact information. Selecting these new tiles provides the user with easy access to all of the available details associated with the specific tile/topic.
Please note: If your department currently references the Student Center or links in MyBGSU in PDFs, documents or webpages, this information will need to be reviewed to accurately reflect the new names and locations.
