Over the recent months, BGSU has implemented a significant account security initiative to help protect its users. On March 1, 2017 all BGSU account holders were required to change their passwords, and on March 15, 2017 Two Step Authentication (Duo) protection was placed in front of the MyBGSU portal. These new security measures were in response to a recent increase in compromised university accounts resulting from faculty, staff and students falling for phishing emails and giving away their BGSU username and password.
To increase awareness on the importance of account security and to better explain these recent changes, ITS will be holding a live webinar on Thursday, April 27 at 1:30pm. The webinar will also include information on identifying security risks, a personal security checkup and an overview of future security initiatives.
