Ice Arena Student Employment
The BGSU Ice Arena employs roughly 100 students for a variety of different jobs and responsibilities. Positions vary from weekly shifts as a Pro Shop Attendant or Zamboni Driver to specialized positions such as Learn to Skate instructors or referees for recreational hockey. For a complete list and description of all positions see below. Availability of each position varies through out the year and is dependent on the demands of each season.
Available positions are posted on the BGSU Student Employment page through WorkNet. For inquires regarding open positions, contact Michael McPhillips, BGSU Ice Arena Coordinator of Services. Completed applications and resumes can be submitted in person to the Newlove Pro Shop or emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are accepted year round, however, only reviewed during active hiring sessions.

There are also opportunities to receive academic credit for practicums and internships. See below for a list of regular opportunities. Additional opportunities are always available depending on the academic interest and skill set of the applicant. Practicum positions are available during all three academic semesters; Fall, Winter and Summer. Two Graduate Assistantship positions are available within the Ice Arena for the 2017-2018 season. Acceptance into Bowling Green State University Graduate College and Human Movement, Sport, and Leisure Studies (HMSLS) program.
