Facility Information

The Lounge, Main Ice, and Multi-Purpose Ice may be rented for activities including corporate outings, church outings, school field trips, scout socials, or private functions such as meetings, birthdays, showers, and even wedding receptions.  The descriptions below detail the available accommodations and costs associated with the various facilities in the Ice Arena.

Rentals are open to all including BGSU students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

The BGSU Affiliate rate is for current student/faculty/staff groups or organizations, hosting an official BGSU function.

Area Descriptions

Main Ice - 85' x 200'

BGSU Affiliate - $172.00
General Public - $219.00

The Main Ice at the BGSU Ice Arena can be rented for a wide range of events and functions involving hockey, figure skating, broomball, or general recreational skating.

Multi Purpose Ice - 57' X 150'

BGSU Affiliate - $102.00
General Public - $136.00

The Multi Purpose ice is a unique space at the BGSU Ice Arena that can be used for activities such as hockey, figure skating, curling, public skating, and broomball.  Corporate events, family outings, and organizational parties in conjunction with the Lounge are very popular.

Skate rental is available. Extra fees apply.

Lounge

BGSU Affliate - $40.00/hour
General Public - $75.00/hour
Fireplace - additional $25.00

The Ice Arena Lounge is large enough to accommodate up to 125 people, yet can maintain a "living room" atmosphere for smaller functions.  It is an excellent venue for academic seminars, retirement parties, business meetings, a variety of social events and even wedding receptions.  Catering and alcoholic beverage options are available.  Please request at the time of booking so the appropriate arrangements can be made.  Candles are not permitted.

2010 and 2011 Renovations
Improve Ice Arena Facilities

The Ice Arena underwent nearly six months of renovations in 2010 to update facilities including:

  • New ice plant; including new compressors, chillers, dehumidification systems, and boilers
  • New lighting of the Main Ice; three times stronger than the previous lighting
  • New roof and gutter system
  • Masonry cleaning
  • Conversion of the Curling Ice to the Multi Purpose Ice with boards, glass, and netting for hockey and skating while maintaining three curling lanes
  • Addition of four new locker rooms
  • Renovation of current locker rooms with new benches, paint, and skate tread
  • Lounge upgrades
  • New concession stand
  • New pro shop
  • New skate rental area with 500 new rental skates
  • New sound system throughout the facility
