Furlough Policy

In accordance with the Furlough Policy adopted by the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees and as part of a financial plan to achieve a balanced budget for fiscal year 2021, classified staff, administrative staff and faculty administrators will be subject to the following furlough schedules. Each impacted employee will receive an individual notification from Human Resources indicating the quantity of furlough days required based upon the employee category and FY20 base salary range along with additional guidance and information.

Furlough days will begin July 1, 2020, and conclude by June 30, 2021.

Please note that four furlough days will be expected to be observed by all employees on December 28, 29, 30 and 31, 2020, reflecting the University’s intention to be closed during that week of winter break. The remaining required days can be determined in consultation with the applicable supervisor taking into account the needs of the work unit to which an employee is assigned.
