Human Resources Top 10 Accomplishments

The Office of Human Resources team, in accordance with its mission, strives to accomplish goals in alignment with the BGSU strategic plan.   

During the 2017 - 2018 academic year, we were able to accomplish several of our internal goals and initiatives.  We are very proud of our accomplishments and will continue to work towards goals that will meet the needs of the University.   

Human Resources worked deligently to update the staff handbooks to make sure they were up-to-date, easy to read, and transparent.  Once the draft was complete, we worked closely with Classified Staff Council and Administrative Staff Council for their input and suggestions as well.  This was a very large time consuming project and the outcome has been very well received by all.

Human Resources met our goal of 100% compliance and offered the mandated health insurance offering to those that qualified during the 2017 - 2018 fiscal year.  All offers were made timely and all guidelines were met.  This removes any potential for large fines in this area to the university.

A new automated I-9 system was implemented for all of BGSU.  This system not only allows easier completion for the employee but also ensures accuracy, maintains all I-9's in one location, and reduces risk and liability to the university.
