Life Events - Benefit Changes

Life Events - Benefit Changes

Getting married?  Having a baby?  Losing health coverage for you or an eligible dependent?  These are considered Life Events and make you eligible for a special enrollment period to make changes to your current benefit plan selections.  The documentation needs to be uploaded and approved by HR prior to updating your plan elections online.  Please take this into consideration when your deadline is approaching as HR is closed on weekends, holidays and in the evenings.  If the entire event enrollment process is not completed within 30 calendar days, the coverage change will be denied.  The next opportunity to make a coverage change will be during the annual open enrollment, for an effective date of January 1st.  Information about Life Events can be found on the Benefits Section under Life Events.

Contraceptives - How well do you know your coverage?

Contraceptives - How well do you know your coverage?

The coverage for contraceptives under the BGSU plans is quite different.  Under Plan A, only oral contraceptives in generic form are covered, and ONLY if they are dispensed directly from the Falcon Health Center pharmacy or through the CVS/Caremark Mail Order program.  The copay for generic oral contraceptives through these locations is $0. Under Plan B, all contraceptive forms are covered at a $0 copay as required by the Affordable Care Act.  If a generic is available, you are required to use the generic for the $0 cost share.  In addition, these may be purchased at the Falcon Health Center pharmacy or through the CVS Mail Order program. Prior to making a decision on what is best for you, please use the tools provided by CVS/Caremark to determine coverage under your specific plan along with the corresponding pricing.  These tools are located for use 24/7/365 in the Benefits Section under Health and Prescription.
